Whats New

The department of clinical Biochemistry will be shortly introducing antinuclear antibody testing by indirect immunofluorescence (ANA IFA) which is the gold standard for ANA testing. The entire faculty of Biochemistry has undergone vigorous training for the same. This will add to the list of tests already provided by the lab such as ANA ELISA and ANA profile (Line ELISA) providing a complete repertoire of tests for autoimmune diseases. With the introduction of kappa and lambda free light chain, multiple myeloma serum and urine panel has been introduced providing a comprehensive panel for diagnosis and monitoring of myeloma patients.

There are ongoing projects and studies being conducted in the department. Dr. Bharti Uppal has been elected President for the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI) and gave a presidential oration at Mysore. Dr. Ashish K Joy won a first cash prize in the poster competition at a CME at SGRD Amritsar and also won a travel scholarship to present a poster at Durban, South Africa. Dr. Nandita Maini won third prize in an oral presentation at CARES 2018.
