Medical Social Welfare

- Extending Psycho Social & Economical Assistance

In 1971 the department of "Medical Social Welfare was set up in the hospital and it continues to be actively involved in social case work and outreach programme. Medical Social Workers deal with social, emotional and environmental factors in illness and its treatment. A good number of patients are also provided financial help towards the diagnostic investigation, treatment and rehabilitation through special funds or other social welfare agencies like Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust. In the year 2005-2006, 2441 patients have been helped towards recovery and rehabilitation with an estimated amount of Rs. 9,96,536. Another significant role of the Department is in coordinating the Comprehensive Medical Camps organized in  collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Charitable Trust. The department also coordinate the visits of specialist to Missionaries of Charity.
