The Department of
Urology was established in 1996 as an independent department to
foster high quality services for patients with Genito-Urinary
Disorders. The Department offers the following services to its
clientele from all over the country and abroad. It also gives
support to various Mission Hospitals and in the training of General
Surgeons and young Urologists. The Department of Urology is headed
by Dr Kim Mammen who is an internationally renowned Urologist and
Renal Transplant Surgeon with extensive clinical experience in the
UK.
Urological
Oncology: Radical Surgical treatment for Tumors of the Kidney,
Adrenal, Ureter, Bladder, Prostate, Testes and Penis.
Renal
Transplantation: The Renal Transplantation Program was started in
1991 and it is going on successfully with excellent results. The
first successful cadaver renal transplantation in Punjab was
performed here in 1996.
Endourology: Endoscopic treatment of the Kidney, Ureter, Bladder,
Prostate and Urethra.
Urinary Stones:
ESWL (Extra-Corporal Shock Wave Lithotripsy), PCNL (Percutaneous
Nephrolithotomy), URS (Uretero-Renoscopy and in situ Lithotripsy)
and Cystolithalopexy.
