The Department of Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery is a state of the art department with a very dedicated, compassionate and skilled team delivering international level Cardiac, Vascular including Endovascular, Thoracic & Trauma care.

The Institute has been the first to start Cardiac Surgery in Punjab. This was possible due to the pioneering efforts of Dr Forrest Cary Eggleston, Dr CM Singh and Dr Mohan Verghese.

Our mortality for isolated Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting including for emergency cases and acute Myocardial Infarction cases with severe LV dysfunction - has been 0%.

The department has a strong faculty presence with a net clinical, academic and postgraduate and super-specialty experience of over 30 years in all aspects of cardio-vascular and thoracic surgery, cardiac anesthesia and critical care.
