• Department is being recognized as a good centre for clinical trials by
reputed sponsors. Department is well equipped to conduct clinical trials. |

• Department is using computer simulation models as replacement of animal
experiments for undergraduate students. The department was one of first few
in India to totally replace use of animal with simulations in UG teaching. |

• The department uses various innovative methods to teach students like
seminars by students, student-led small group discussion, quiz, debates,
skill training, therapeutic case follow up, case based learning, role plays,
poster making etc. The department takes frequent feedback from students to
improve teaching-learning. The department also provides regular and timely
feedback to students with a well-kept record of their performance on
assessment cards and reports. |

• Department is actively involved in activities of Medical education unit.
All faculty members are trained in Medical Council of India Basic course.
Dr. Dinesh is Fellow, FAIMER, USA (International fellowship in Medical
Education by FAIMER, Philadelphia). Dr. Gagandeep and Dr. Jasleen are
Fellow, CMCL-FAIMER, Ludhiana. |

• Department is actively involved in conduct of CMCL-FAIMER fellowship
courses. Dr. Dinesh Badyal is program co-director, CMCL-FAIMER Regional
Institute, Ludhiana. He is also Co-convener of MCI Nodal centre for Faculty
Development. He is also International faculty. Dr. Gagandeep is faculty for
CMCL-FAIMER, Ludhiana |
