MITRA” a Centre
for Training and Counseling Services (CTCS)
MITRA (FRIEND), a centre for training and Counseling services managed
by a qualified counselors and chaplains has been an active functional
unit of the CMCH for a while under the auspices of the Fellowship
Department. The Centre focuses on pastoral care and Counseling to the
staff, students, patients and their family members. The Centre also
organizes workshops and seminars for the CMC community as and when the
need arises. The Centre also offers a one year residential post graduate
diploma course in Clinical Pastoral Counseling (DCPC) affiliated to the
Senate of Serampore University, West Bengal through Christian Medical
Association of India (CMAI) New Delhi. The ministry of counseling is an
important and integral part of the work of Pastoral Care. Anyone who
desires to undertake counseling work needs to understand the meaning of
counseling and to learn the skills that are required. He/she will also
need to consider the relationship between counseling and other aspects
of his/her ministry.
