Christian
Medical College Ludhiana Society, on behalf of the Church, seeks to
contribute to the health needs of India by training primarily
Christian Medical, Dental, Nursing and other health professional
students and by providing holistic health services to the community
and the nation, with people of the Christian faith serving in
Christ's name alongside with those of other faiths, who identify
with these aims and goals.
The Christian Medical College and its allied institutions, Dental
College, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy and Hospital
are established and administered by "Christian Medical College
Ludhiana Society".
In furtherance of the above affirmations, the colleges and other
units are administered as an educational and research institution of
an all India character, run, managed and administered by Christian
men and women as health professional, to the highest standards and
in the spirit of Jesus Christ, for the healing ministry of the
Church in India.
Staff of all faiths shall live and serve together in the Institution
in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust and love.
In this atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding, all the staff
shall together strive to create a climate of excellence that is
marked by a sense of God's presence and action in their corporate
ministry in the institution
Governing Body
The Governing body of the society manages the affairs of the society
under the rule and regulations' of the society.
Governing Body consists of nine term members, three general
co-opted members from among local citizens, Representatives of the
Member Bodies (Co-operating Christian Bodies & Associated Christian
Bodies) and six elected staff members.

Director
The society appoints
the Director who is the Chief Executive Officer of the
Institution. He reports to and is responsible to the Governing
Body. He helps the Governing Body in establishing and
circulating basic policies for the management and administration
of the institution. He implements the policies laid by the
governing body, and the various administrative officers report
to him
Principal of Medical College
The Principal is appointed by the Governing Body to
develop and administer, with faculty and staff assistance, plans
and policies of all the academic, research and extra-curricular
programmes of the Medical College which are approved and
recognized by University.
Medical Superintendent
Governing Body appoints the Medical Superintendent. He
develops and administers, with faculty and staff assistance,
plans and policies for the clinical programs, in particular all
the matters pertaining to patient care and patient's welfare
including medico legal and all extension programmes and medical
welfare service departments. He is the appointing authority of
house doctors, registrars and demonstrators in the clinical
departments of the institution. He is responsible through the
Assessment Officer for granting of concessions to poor and
deserving patients.

Governing Body appoints a General Superintendent and shall

Finance
Officer
Appointed by
Governing Body, the Finance officer safe keep the institutional
funds and channelise them optimally. He keeps a check on the
financial transactions through internal audits and advises the
Finance committee about review and implements effective systems
of expenditure control.
Personnel Officer
The Personnel Officer is appointed by The Governing Body
to recruit group II & III employees not falling under the
jurisdiction of Medical Superintendent. He assists Medical
Superintendent and Nursing Superintendent in recruitment of
their staff. HE also develops and maintains welfare programmes
for the staff.
Principal of Dental College
The Principal is appointed by the Governing Body to
develop and administer, with faculty and staff assistance, plans
and policies of the entire academic, research and
extra-curricular programmes of the Dental College.
Principal of College of Nursing
The Principal is appointed by the Governing Body to
develop and administer, with faculty and staff assistance, plans
and policies of the entire academic, research and
extra-curricular programmes of the Nursing College.
Nursing Superintendent
Governing Body appoints the Nursing Superintendent who
develops and administers, with
faculty and staff assistance, plans and policies for the
clinical programs, in particular all the matters pertaining to
patient care and patient’s welfare. S/He is the appointing
authority of group II nursing staff. S/He establishes and
implements clear job descriptions for each cadre in nursing
service. |
